The Fate Of The Serie A Clubs
Serie A champions Juventus have been relegated Serie B along with 2 other Serie A clubs, Fiorentina & Lazio at the conclusion of the Italian tribunal into sporting fraud. Juve also was stripped of the their last 2 league titles, from 2005 & 2006. They also will start with a 30-point handicap for the impending Serie B campaign. Also relegated, Fiorentina, who finished fourth in Serie A in May, will start the 2006/07 season with minus 12 points while sixth-placed Lazio join Fiorentina in dropping down a tier & will start the 2006/07 season with minus 7 points. On the contrary, AC Milan escaped relegation (fuhhh...lega!) but will begin their next Serie A challenge at minus 15 points. All the clubs have three days in which to lodge an appeal.
